i have managed to thoroughly neglect this blog since my vagabond lifestyle came to an end. or, at least a pause. in three months since i traveled all over the northeast paying visits to friends i miss and adore, i’ve managed to pack my bags on at least a weekly basis. now based in venice, i’ve packed my bags to spend more time with cristian & patricia and co. out in palm springs, ca, visited friends in san francisco, house sat with 4 dogs, crashed at my friend steve’s place for 2 weeks, mtn. biked in the SM mountains, and other assorted adventures.
photos of aforementioned adventures may or may not get posted. there is a lot of ambition and not a lot of follow through since i’m super busy with work, teaching, and art commisions. ask me about the octopus. go on… ask me.
the friend i miss most continues to make it a point to remind me just how well he knows me. this is done by mailing me a mystery package, labeled in chinese just to throw me off the scent.
tea from china, perhaps? that would rule. but no,… no – that’s not what it is.
it’s even better:
okay, not only is it a utensil set featuring anthropomorphic qualities, but the chopsticks are freaking CHROME and they disassemble like the world’s tiniest pool cues. oh my god… this is my new favorite thing in the world.
you only need to spend about 10 minutes with me or have one exciting adventure of trying to get something to eat at a restaurant with me in tow to find out that i am a total freak about reusable cups, plates, napkins, the whole deal. hell, i’ve even used the same paper bag for 8 weeks going now to pick up mushrooms at the farmer’s market.
so micah, thank you. i haven’t the slightest clue when or how i’ll be able to send you something that makes you even half as happy. you rock.
